About Us

Located in the heart of St. Thomas parish, Yallahs High School has been a cornerstone of educational excellence in the community since February 9, 1967. What began as a Junior Secondary School serving Grades 7-9 has evolved into a comprehensive educational institution that now provides quality secondary education from Grade 7 to Grade 13, including specialized Pathways programmes and sixth form offerings. Under the dedicated leadership of Principal Mrs. Darna Davis-Williams and our committed faculty, we are proud to serve students from diverse backgrounds across St. Thomas and surrounding areas. Our school operates with the understanding that many of our families face economic challenges, which makes our role in providing accessible, quality education even more vital to our community's growth and prosperity. Guided by our motto 'Work to Achieve,' we are committed to creating an inclusive learning environment where every student is empowered to reach their full potential. Our recent expansion into Hospitality and Tourism Management programmes, along with strengthened business and information technology offerings, reflects our dedication to preparing students for success in key sectors of Jamaica's economy. As we approach our 60th anniversary in 2027, Yallahs High School continues to evolve with ambitious plans for expanded technical training programmes and enhanced facilities. For nearly six decades, we have proudly served thousands of students, helping them develop not only academic excellence but also the character and skills needed to become responsible citizens and leaders in their communities.
Work to Achieve

Our Mission

Our mission is to create a dynamic learning environment where every student is motivated to become a responsible and active learner. Through comprehensive academic and co-curricular programmes, we empower our students to realize their full potential while developing the essential skills needed to live, work, and contribute harmoniously to society.

Our Vision

We envision Yallahs High School as a recognized centre of educational excellence where at least 80 percent of our graduates achieve certification in five subjects, including Mathematics, English, and a technical or vocational subject through regional and international examinations. We are committed to transforming lives and strengthening our community through quality education that prepares students for success in an ever-changing global landscape.
